If only these windows would open I could have killed so many birds!

The morning started well enough. Human put food in the bowl again and the water fountain continued its eternal pouring. I felt a slight chill and moved to the front window for warmth. Bird after bird landed in the tree not four feet from my perch. Repeatedly I hissed and batted at the window to no avail. The birds came and went, unaware of presence, power, and ferocity of will. Then the humans returned, turned on the television, and gazed at their phones until they fell asleep.

A black and white cat walks toward the camera on a wooden floor inside a bright room. In the background, there is a window with curtains that reveal a tall palm tree outside. A decorative sign on the wall reads 'California love', and there is a desk with a chair to the right.
